Jake Martin returns to Pine Valley! Ricky Paull Goldin, leaves his role of Gus on Guiding Light after a seven-year run, to recreate the character last played by J. Eddie Peck from 2000-2003. Jake returns sometime in April...what, if anything, will that mean to Greenlee?

I will miss Ricky Paull Goldin on the Guiding Light. But, I look forward to watching him on AMC.

I have been watching AMC for over 25 yrs and I am getting very bored. I am tired of Kendal and Aiden drama. Just drop the fact they slept together, I think we all want to forget about it. Why cant the writers. They need to bring some more characters back from the past like Liza and Brook. I wouldnt mind seeing Tads ex-wife, Hillary return also. Not that Jessie and Angie are back, its time to bring Greg back. I guess it would be too much to bring Jenny back from the dead but who knows, it is a soap
I have been watching AMC since it started and I was in the sixth grade! Where are the storylines that made this show number one! I have also been watching GL for the last few years. GL at least has some interesting storylines when AMC gets boring which is alot lately. I am sorry that Gus will be leaving, but never understood the breakup with Harley. Good Luck to him on AMC, hopefully, it will bring some of the fun energy back into AMC!
I could not care less about Jesse and Angie. Who, except Angie, is still wearing an Afro? Give us a real story, this ove is boring!!!!
I too loved J. Eddie Peck and miss him. He and Rebecca had great chemistry. I loved it when Greenlee compared him to Leo (vanilla ice cream vs. rocky road). But I am looking forward to Ricky Goldin. He is fascinating to watch. I did not watch him on GL, but I remember him on the Y&R. I would rather see Greenlee have feelings for him than all of a sudden have attractions toward Zack. P.S. the only way I would like to see Jenny come back from the dead would be to bring back Kim Delaney.
AMC is SO boring! What has happened? I have watched since 1971 but I think I am going to start tuning out. Where is the excitment? Where are the older actors? Where are some REAL story lines? Welcome Jake, can you bring some life to this mess? SOS!!!

I too have watched AMC now exceding 20 years ~ It is a shame to see the show spiraling downwards into the abyss. I understood that there were new writers. I am puzzled in terms of why it is they aren’t being more creative and populating new story lines rather than retrieving old actors & actresses - go forth and prosper with new ideas… Good goat!
Michael Lowry played Jake from 1996-2000. To me, he was the best.
Stop bringing back old characters! It’s obvious the writer’s are unable to create a story to last longer than than the characters return. Try cleaning up some of the 75 gazillion storylines you got going now. End the Zack/Kendall/Greenlee/Aidan/Ryan fiasco. And for crying out loud, throw out the old Port Charles scripts!
I second the motion! AMC has become totally boring. I don’t even feel bad if I miss a day and don’t even want to watch it on Soapnet if I do. The Kendall/Zack/Aiden.Greenlee/Ryan is just plan nuts. Please resolve this soon or AMC will lose a lot of viewers.
Thanks Melinda. That was the name I was trying to remember. I agree…he was the best Jake. As I recall, he wrote a ’soap opera column’ after he left and I think he is living in the Northwest.
This is the first I heard of Ricky Paul Goldin leaving GL to join AMC. I love Gus. I wonder how he will leave. He seems to me to be older then Jakes character used to be. Maybe he can shake up this show which to me is the last one I watch lately and used to be the first one. I record them on my dvr.

Well Welcome to Pine Valley. Well It Started to Look Like Gus wasn’t going to Hock Up after The Split From Harley But after Gus & Harley Went There Way’s. Gus Found Natalia Then Married Her & There going to Move into an House. I Guess That’s When Gus Has a Rack & Dies. Well I Guess That When You Move over to My Frist Soap to ALL My Children. I Hope you Make The Role Has Jake Marin. I was Wondering Why you was Growning a Beard. It was Because The New Role you are Going to Play Has Jake Martin. Well Have you got Use to Being around with The New Co- Worker’s That your Going to Gave. Well I Love to See you Earlier in My Day. It’s G.L. Lose & Great for ALL My Children’s Gam.
