THIS COULD MESS UP HER LIFE FOR GOOD!

Tad looks at the annulment papers and wonders aloud why Babe can't, for once, just meet a guy and shake hands? Simone thinks the least he could do is thank her for finding the paper! Granted, she did almost hit him over the head with a knickknack, but the least he could do is share! Tad tells her to trust him-somebody's been sharing enough for all of them. He adds that Babe was right about one thing, "This little piece of paper could mess up her life but good!" Baby Girl learned from the best; her mama taught her how to dress, how to flirt with men, and how to pull a major fast one. He admits he's furious with Krystal-she lied, cheated and all-around snaked him! He warned her not to do anything to mess with his son's life, and it's time he taught her a lesson. Simone begs to come and watch, but Tad just thanks her for helping him find this, and says he owes her one.

THE RESULTS ARE IN…

Joe announces that the test results are in. Babe looks at JR, Adam and Jamie, and recalls their angry words about the baby. She stands up and looks around as Joe repeats these are the results they've been waiting for. She pales, and Krystal steadies her as she sinks back to the couch. Joe gets Babe some water, and Krystal asks if he's sure she doesn't need an MRI? Adam snaps that she just needs some new material, "A fainting spell at the moment of truth is clichéd, at best." As Jamie and JR argue, Babe tells them to just stop! She insists she's okay, and asks Joe if they can just get this over with? Joe agrees, gladly, and reads from the report, "The test results confirm that the father of Babe's child is JR." JR turns with a grin and takes his wife in his arms as he exclaims it's their baby! Adam angrily calls it a mistake or a lie-it's not true! Joe tells him not to be ridiculous; it's a cutting edge science, and the margin of error is practically nonexistent. Adam thinks he must be proud of himself to fake such a complicated test! Krystal notes he doesn't know when to quit, but JR declares it stops right now. Adam refuses to let the Martins get away with this, accusing Joe of doing this to protect his grandson. Joe reminds him, "The only person in this room who has ever tampered with paternity records is you." He says the fact is that his son has fathered a child, and he would stake his reputation on it; Adam can fight him if he wants, but he would only be denying his own flesh and blood. If he's not careful, the only child he's going to have in his life is Colby, and she'll soon be old enough to walk away herself. Does he really want to lose his son and his grandchild? Jamie starts out the door, but Babe tells him to wait. She begs them to forget about all this meanness and focus on what's important here-they're brothers and nothing is ever going to change that! Jamie notes that something already has, but Babe insists they can let go of all the misunderstandings and the fights. Do either of them really want to lose the only brother they have? She asks JR if he really wants to teach their child to walk away from the people they love without looking back? JR sighs and holds out his hand; at Babe's prompting, Jamie shakes hands with his brother as Tad comes in and asks if anyone wants to fill him in? JR suggests Jamie tell his dad how happy he is that he's going to be an uncle. Jamie walks out, and JR tells Babe not to worry, he'll come around. Krystal tells Tad it's just like she and Babe said all along-JR is going to be a daddy, straight from his daddy's mouth, so everything's fixed and all right with the world. She says she just had a little faith, but he notes she did a lot more than that, "You went out of your way to fix things but good, didn't you?"

JR tells his father they're going to have to talk sometime, and it better be now. He suggests Adam say he was wrong and he's sorry; he doesn't care what he says, but not one word about the test result being a lie, "And not one word about Babe other than how much of a loving mother she is." Adam asks if he's forgotten what brought them here? JR says his wife is having his baby, and they'd like him to be part of their Norman Rockwell picture. But, if he can't even begin to acknowledge mother and child, then he'll tell him to go to Hell and take his family and leave. Joe was right, and he should think long and hard about this decision; if he's not careful, he's going to lose a son and a grandchild.
