EXTRA! EXTRA! ABC aired a promo for the combined AMC/OLTL episode tomorrow, March 23rd. As we see Bianca and Babe, the voiceover announces, “Two pregnant women caught in a storm.” Babe looks at Bianca’s baby and exclaims, “She’s here!” We then see Paul (a new Paul, by the way) and his sister, Kelly, “A desperate wife, praying for a miracle.” When Kelly says he’s around babies all the time, Paul asks, “What do you want me to do, just take one?” We see Babe in full labor as the announcer tells us one man will bring them together in an unprecedented television event. Paul comes into the cabin, and Babe cries that he’s got to help her! We then see Bianca holding her baby in her arms as she sleeps, and Babe gently kissing her own newborn, as Paul goes outside and calls his sister, “Good news, Kelly—I got a baby for you!” The promo closes by telling us to tune in when All My Children and One Life to Live become one show, tomorrow, Tuesday, March 23rd.
ABC Soaps’ preview shows a picture of two babies, with the caption, “Stolen at Birth” – a story so big, it has to be told on two shows, “Two shows collide in one mind-blowing event!”
Finally, One Life to Live opened today with Paul Cramer’s sister, Kelly, kissing her husband as we see the caption, “She had one wish”. Kelly cries that all she wanted was to be happy with her husband and a child as we see the next caption, “But it didn’t come true.” When she asked her brother why she had to lose her baby, he replied that she had to tell Kevin sooner or later, but Kelly insisted he can never know what happened! The next caption tells us, “And she’ll do anything to get what she wants.” Kelly tells Paul he’s the only one she can count on, and he has to help her get a child! Paul promises he will. As the story continues, Paul calls Kelly and says she can trust him. “You found me a baby?” she asks incredulously. Paul says yes; he’s small, but he seems to be good and healthy. She should hang tight while he makes the arrangements, and she’ll have her baby tonight. As Kelly asks what he did and whose baby it is, Paul looks toward the cabin where the two newborns and their mothers wait for help.
