QUOTE OF THE DAY:

Krystal (to Erica on motherhood): “Whether you hug or holler, the love’s still there.”

ON THE NEXT ALL MY CHILDREN:

J.R. tells Adam he’s not going anywhere until he knows his baby’s okay!

When Kendall says Bianca is fighting for her life and her baby is God-knows-where, Jack insists, “This is not Erica’s fault.”

Tad asks Paul why he would head off without a medic, “Unless, of course, you didn’t want any witnesses?”

EXTRA! EXTRA!

I always try to write about the crossover connections between our show and One Life to Live, and will continue to do so whenever I know about one of our characters crossing over to Llanview. I didn’t want to leave you hanging in the midst of a scene, so will finish out the day where Kelly introduces “her” baby to his new family. Here’s a quick recap of Wednesday’s One Life to Live crossover connection:

The story in Llanview begins today with the legend, “Her wish came true…” We see scenes of Paul telling his sister, “You wanted a family, and now you’re going to have one.”

But there’s more to the story…

We then see Paul telling his sister that he knew the mother, and she didn’t want the baby, then thinking back to delivering Babe’s child and telling her, “Your boy’s here!” Kelly had wondered how anyone could give him up…

What happens if the truth comes out?

The previous scenes conclude with Kelly telling Todd she’s starting a family, and she can’t start a family based on a lie. Todd warned that if Kevin finds out, he’s going to make her give the baby back, and he’ll run straight to Blair! As they were speaking, Blair was insisting to Kevin if there was something wrong with the baby, Kelly wouldn’t shut him out.

NOW, THE STORY CONTINUES…

Kevin wonders what Kelly is trying to keep from him, but Blair insists if something was wrong with the baby, Kelly wouldn’t shut him out.

Dorian says they’re running the usual tests in the nursery, adding she’s already called Kevin several times, and she doesn’t understand why Kelly called Todd for help. Dorian warns Kelly if there’s something she’s not telling her, it’s going to come out sooner or later.

Todd makes arrangements on the phone, saying he’d pay another five thousand at the end of the year if he says he helped that lovely woman deliver her little baby in his old, humble farmhouse. He hangs up and looks at an article in the paper about Kevin Buchanan; he smiles with satisfaction that Kelly owes him.

Kelly again asks where Kevin is? Dorian doesn’t know, but wonders why Kelly was so worried about Kevin and Blair? Dorian says she can’t reach him, and Kelly suggests she call Blair! Dorian reaches him there and says Kelly has had the baby; he should get over to the hospital as soon as possible. Kevin leaves, and we see Todd hiding at the business. When a workman comes up, Todd asks how he’d like to make more money than he does in a month? He borrows the man’s uniform and sneaks in to see his daughter.

Kevin arrives, and wants to know everything—she shouldn’t leave any detail out! Kelly apologizes to Kevin for taking off like that, saying she was upset about him and Blair, and has been at the spa since she’s been gone. Kevin thinks of what could have happened to her, but Kelly assures him she and the baby are fine. It was good for her to get away, and she was on her way back to him when she went into labor. Dorian says the baby’s fine, and doesn’t look that premature! The nurse brings the baby in, and Kevin beams as he holds the child and says he’s his dad, and he’s so sorry he wasn’t there for him! He thinks the baby is beautiful, and thanks Kelly for giving him another son. When he exclaims they haven’t even thought of a name, Kelly thinks he looks like a Buchanan, and suggests they name him after Asa. “You would do that for my family?” Kevin asks. When she nods that he’s a Buchanan, Kevin asks the baby, “What do you think of that, Ace?” Kelly’s eyes are full of happy tears as she smiles he’s their lucky little Ace! When the nurse comes to take the baby back to the nursery, Kevin goes along. He wants Kelly to rest, but he’ll come back and she can tell him the whole story of how he made his grand entrance!

After visiting Kelly, Dorian is having a drink when David Vickers comes into the bar. Dorian tells him Kelly and the baby are doing just fine. She believes him when he says he’s relieved and cares about her girls, and agrees they know everything about each other, “For better or for worse.” He renovated her house, planned their cancelled wedding and even got a job, “Oh, what the heck, what am I waiting for?” She gets down on one knee to propose, and David agrees to marry her.
