Character Background:

Natalie Marlowe, although married to Alex Hunter, was still in love with his son and past love interest, Jeremy Hunter. Natalie wanted to rid herself of Alex, so she decided to seduce him to death. Both Natalie and Alex came to Pine Valley at Erica's invitation. Shortly after, Natalie discovered she was pregnant with Alex's child.

Alex was killed during a foxhunt when his bootstrap had been cut by Andrew Cortlandt, whose target was really Ross Chandler. Natalie was now free to pursue Jeremy, unfortunately, he was engaged to Erica. Natalie got Jeremy drunk, slipped into bed with him and convinced him the child she was carrying was his! Erica hired an actor to perform Natalie and Jeremy's marriage ceremony so the marriage was not legal. While on a private island, Jeremy helped deliver Natalie son, Timmy.

Adam Chandler, in an effort to win Erica, rigged a paternity test to prove Jeremy was Timmy's father, but Natalie confessed that Timmy was really Alex's child. Natalie then went to work as Palmer's nurse after he had been paralyzed from being shot by Adam. Adam needed someone to spy on his rival, Palmer, so he asked Natalie and she agreed. 

While at Cortlandt Manor, Natalie began a torrid affair with Ross Chandler. Once she realized that Ross would never leave his wife, Ellen Shepard, she accepted Palmer Cortlandt's marriage proposal. Ross' marriage to Ellen crumbled and he became very angry, went into Natalie's room and raped her.

Silver Kane and Jeremy were trying to resume their relationship but Silver knew that Jeremy still loved Natalie. Silver began to stalk Natalie, pretending to be a rapist, trying to unnerve her. Natalie and Palmer were in the midst of a divorce when Jeremy and Natalie rekindled their love. Jeremy told Silver that he still loved Natalie. An angry Silver went after Natalie with a gun, they struggled, the gun went off and Silver was dead. Palmer happened upon the scene, cleaned up the mess and blackmailed Natalie into remaining to be his wife.

Natalie was arrested, and then exonerated when the answering machine tape, which Palmer had stolen, provided proof that the killing was an accident. Palmer was sent to prison for obstruction of justice. Natalie was then able to marry Jeremy.

Natalie then inherited a small fortune from a millionaire whom she once cared for when she was a nurse. Natalie began the Mason Foundation named after him and became a bit of a snob. Trevor Dillon became enamored with Natalie, but wealthy Natalie wanted nothing to do with him. Adam Chandler stepped up to vie for Natalie's affections and, although she didn't love Adam, married him to spite Trevor. Trevor tried to stop the wedding, but, alas, he was too late.

Adam finally divorced Natalie and she became engaged to Trevor when her frumpy sister, Janet Green, came to Pine Valley. Janet, jealous of all that Natalie had, decided to seduce Trevor and take him away from Natalie. Janet cloned herself as a Natalie-look-alike, threw Natalie in a well and took over Natalie's life. Trevor married Janet Green and they consummated the marriage without Trevor even noticing it was really Janet in his bed.

Weeks went by until Dimitri found Natalie in the well and nursed her back to health. Natalie was torn between her savior, Dimitri and Trevor who had been so easily duped by Janet. Trevor was close to winning back Natalie until the news from Janet's prison cell came that Janet was pregnant from their time together.

Natalie became the soon-to-be-bride of Dimitri Marick, only to be surprised at their engagement party, that his wife, Angelique, was really alive after waking from a 15-year coma. Natalie left Wildwind, but couldn't go back to Trevor for fear that she could not accept Janet's child as her own.

Janet escaped from her hospital room where she was awaiting her baby's impending birth. Janet wore Trevor's raincoat, sought out and killed Will Cortlandt. Janet's twisted mind felt this would free Trevor from the time he had been spending protecting his niece, Hayley, and would spend more time with her and their new baby.

Janet, in a final desperate act, kidnapped Natalie and took her on a train ride. Janet went into labor in the middle of nowhere and forced Natalie, at gunpoint, to go with her to a remote cabin. Natalie helped deliver a beautiful baby girl, Amanda. Janet went back to jail while Natalie married Trevor and the three of them started a new life.

An evil Carter Jones, took vengeance on Trevor Dillon and set fire to his home with Natalie inside. Natalie was blinded by the blaze and she would never see again. Carter, realizing that Natalie was still alive, became a hospital orderly and kidnapped Natalie. Trevor saved her again.

Natalie, after being blind for months, stared at the angel atop the Christmas tree and could see again. Life went on until a friend, Laurel Banning, came to town. Trevor was skeptical of Laurel and he was right, as Laurel tried to embezzle money from the community center where they worked as fund-raisers together. Adam and Natalie decided to confront Laurel at Erica and Dimitri's wedding, but on their way, they had a terrible car accident in which only Adam survived. Natalie was on life support and Trevor was forced to pull the plug and donate her organs to help save other lives.

Natalie (in spirit) visited Pine Valley at Christmas in 1997 to help her son, Tim, when two boys jumped him after he had run away from home. Natalie asked Tim to give Janet one more chance. Natalie told him that she would always love him and be in his heart and soul.

Natalie (in spirit) visited her sister in May of 1998 when Janet and Trevor were married. Natalie gave her blessing to their marriage.

Natalie also visited Pine Valley, when Harold, the family dog, died, to help escort him to Heaven.

Natalie most recent trip to Pine Valley was to help Gillian cross over in July 2001.
