ANYTHING YOU WANT…

“Nobody threatens my wife!” Ryan declares, and Dr. Madden notes he’s the husband, the reason she’s done all of this. Greenlee sees Ryan’s bruises and asks what happened to him? Is he all right? Ryan says no, some guy shows up and wants to arrest his wife—he’s not all right! Greenlee insists it’s nothing, and he’s leaving. Dr. Madden says he’s staying, and suggests they all step inside and discuss this together.

Greenlee tells Ryan this is the doctor she told him about; she went to him for help. Dr. Madden agrees, more than once, and under false pretenses… Greenlee says it’s a mistake; she knows that now, and it’s all over. She suggests they discuss this calmly, and the doctor agrees this time they’ll include her husband, as they should have done the first time they met. Ryan doesn’t want to leave, but Greenlee insists he says things to his doctor he expects to stay private. Greg announces he is not her doctor; he refused to take her on as a patient, so there is no confidentiality, and he will not have his ethics compromised! Greenlee asks Ryan to please give them a sec; let her deal with this whole ethics thing, and then they can enjoy their day. Ryan agrees he’ll go get some take-out, but warns Greg to watch his accusations! Dr. Madden really thinks he should stay and listen to what he has to say, but Ryan tells him his wife says otherwise. So, he should say what he has to say, and then get out of his home. He leaves, and Dr. Madden tells Greenlee, “You stole your husband’s donation vial. I want it back.” When she accuses him of losing it, Greg tells her to spare him the fake indignation, “Either we resolve this now, or else you can speak to the police.” Greenlee grins her daddy’s a big-time lawyer, a former D.A. with tons of friends on the force, and Dr. Madden’s sure he’ll be pleased to know what both his wife and his daughter have been up to. Erica came to him, too, and pleaded her case. As a compromise, he offered to set aside her husband’s sample so it wouldn’t be used by any of their other clients. Greenlee notes he has a shred of decency, but he still blew it. Dr. Madden tells her someone tampered with the doorknob of the cryobank; when he went to separate her husband’s sample, it was missing, along with 2 others. Greenlee asks if he thinks she cares about Joe Blow’s thingies? Dr. Madden says all 3 vials all had similar donor profiles, all matching her husband’s. One person had a motive, one person demanded to be impregnated without her husband’s knowledge, one person dressed up in disguise to commit fraud, “You. Now give me back the vials!” Greenlee retorts someone snagged her husband’s product, and now he uses her as a scapegoat? He lost her husband’s offspring, “I should put you in jail!” Greg asks if she thinks this ridiculous cover-up will get her anywhere? Greenlee vows if he so much as says “boo” to her husband, mention her and vials in the same month, let alone the same sentence, she will bring the mother of all scandals down to Baby Central! He’ll have to hock his clinics to pay for the malpractice suits! “Is anyone actually afraid of you?” the doctor asks. Greenlee shrugs someone broke into his clinic. When word gets out, what woman will trust her womb to him? Is it worth his life’s work to take her on? Ryan comes back, and isn’t pleased to find the doctor still there. Greg leaves, after saying neither of them know what they’re in for! Ryan knows that face; he’s seen that guy before, and he has to be some sort of quack to show up here! Greenlee says to ignore him; the guy has a tremendous ego and went off on her because she wasn’t “respecting the process”. Evidently, the sharing police want to lock her up! As Ryan says sometimes sharing’s overrated, he realizes, “That guy’s not a shrink, he’s a fertility doctor!” He’s a celeb fertility specialist, he’s seen him on TV, “You went to him, and you kept it from me?” Greenlee says it was an impulse; she needed info, she wanted to see if what he had done was reversible. She went for her, too, to see if she was even fertile, all these feelings for no reason. Ryan thinks there has to be more. The guy shows up here and wants to put her in prison, “What did you possibly do to tick him off?” Did she go to the clinic to find a donor? Greenlee says no, not at first. She wanted to explore her options, so she went in with a fake name and a disguise. Ryan thinks this is insane! Greenlee tells him Dr. Ballistic figured it out, and she’s a snake, a fraud, an insult to the baby business; that was his polite way of warning her never to come back, and she’s done with that place. Ryan knows it hurts, never having a baby. It was her dream and she can’t get over it overnight, but she knows an anonymous donor is not going to work for them, right? Greenlee swears she doesn’t want to have a baby by anybody but him. She asks again what happened to his face, and Ryan says the bike got the worst of it.
