From Gloria and Karen

TODAY’S THOUGHTS:

Karen: Wouldn’t you think a penthouse as pricey as Greenlee and Ryan’s would have a stronger door? <grin>

Gloria: For sure!!!

Karen: What was the favor that Greenlee asked of Jack? I’m sure it was more than just having the door fixed!

Gloria: I’m sure!

Karen: I’m not sure Babe doesn’t have some residual feelings for J.R…. I just don’t think her concern is all an act, do you?

Gloria: No…makes me worry about how close Jamie’s gotten to Amanda. How long can he continue not to want more of a relationship?

Karen: I had forgotten about Gloria trying to poison Adam. It’s a wonder she’s the only one of his wives who did!

Gloria: We haven’t had a poison plot in a long while.

Karen: We’ve had the chance to see Jacob Young play a wide range of emotions, and I’ve got to say I’m impressed. I know he had a lot of soap time to his credit before coming to Pine Valley, but I think he’s grown immeasurably as an actor since he took over the role of J.R.

Gloria: I couldn’t agree more. I remember being a little judgmental when he arrived in Pine Valley as I didn't care for him on GH, but I’m eating those thoughts now.

Karen: Totally off track, but I’ve got to share something I thought was so funny! I watched an interview with Christopher Kennedy Lawford (ex-Charlie Brent) on one of the Sunday morning talk shows a couple of weeks ago, where he was talking about his new book, “Symptoms of Withdrawal”, non-fiction about growing up with the Kennedy clan, and his struggles with addiction. I went to my local library to request it, and got a call the next morning from the librarian, who told me it wasn’t in their system. There was a pause, and she very hesitantly said she was sorry she couldn’t get it, but had found another book on the topic, “I’m Dancing As Fast As I Can”, and wondered if that would help me? I recognized the name, having read it many years ago (written by Barbara Gordon, it was about a TV network executive’s dependency on Valium), and started to laugh as I thanked her, but explained the book I wanted was a biography about the Kennedy family; I wasn’t looking for a book on drug addiction and withdrawal. The poor woman stammered that she knew a lot of high school kids did reports on drug dependency, and she just thought I might have some connection with one of my kids… I just laughed every time I thought about it, and wonder how many people in this small town she called to tell about the woman with a problem… <grin>

Gloria: Well, I think the book will be very interesting. I’m a huge fan of his father, Peter Lawford. I’m sure the picture he paints of his family will be rosy.
