Erica questions why Greg would do that, and Josh tells her he’s obviously obsessed with her. It drives him crazy to see him working so closely with her, being around her all the time when he can't be. Erica says she put Greg on notice; he knows not to come around her anymore. Josh goes on that his father did tell him he’d do whatever it takes to get him out of her life. He even threatened to warn her that he might be dangerous, that he might actually be capable of putting that knife in her back, like the one she was looking for earlier. He doesn’t know if he threw him under the bus. He hopes not, but can’t think of any other reason why she would suspect him of setting her up. Erica says his father hasn’t come to her with any scary warnings about him, but she wouldn’t put it past him. He did try to tell her something about Josh, but she shot him down before he got a word out of his mouth. Josh warns her to be careful around him, saying he loves his dad, but he’s the first to admit he can't be trusted. Erica assures him that Greg Madden is the last person on Earth she’d trust, and says despite these recent problems, he has been a first-rate producer, and a loyal employee. Josh asks if this means he gets to keep his job? Erica does expect him to remedy these issues. When he delegates responsibility, he has to follow through, make sure that the responsibilities are carried out without a hitch. Josh agrees she’s got it. Erica concludes, “With you behind the scenes and me in front of the camera, I will be the top-rated show on television.” Josh has no doubt that's exactly where "New Beginnings" is headed.

A CRAZY, RECKLESS, DOOMED LOVE AFFAIR…

Tad arrives and tells Di he got her message. Di says there’s something she’s wanted to tell him for a while, and since she’s feeling better and not going to die, she’s just going to say it. When she says she doesn’t expect him to forgive her, Tad bursts into laughter. Saying he’s laughing in her face when she’s being sincere, Di tells him to bug off! Tad tells her to lighten up; playing Medea like that is ludicrous! Asked what’s so funny, he suggests they review the math. She is the one that crushed his peppercorns, making her the sinner and him the sinnee, and the sinner doesn't have the right to tell the sinnee diddly as to when or how he should move on with his life! Di just meant he shouldn’t let his decision not to forgive her affect whatever happens next. Tad tells her to back up for a second, “Are you suggesting that a man like me could fall in love with a woman like you if I hadn't forgiven you?” As he helps himself to her meat loaf sandwich, Di says no, a man can't fall in love with a woman if he hasn't forgiven her, but that doesn't mean they can't have some crazy, reckless, totally doomed love affair, “I mean, you don't have to forgive me for that.”

Di notes he’s eaten all of her food, insulted her generous gesture, and laughed in her face not once but twice, “Boy, is this fun.” She asks what was so funny, and he repeats her "crazy, reckless, doomed love affair" line. She’s just like a ray of sunshine, isn’t she? Di thinks it was worth a shot, and Tad tells her she was right, “You were absolutely right about my feelings for you. They have nothing to do with Dixie.” Seeing his expression, Di says she knows that look. Either the meatloaf was bad or he just hates that he said those words out loud. He can’t stand that he’s got feelings for her! Tad tells her he hasn’t worked out the forgiveness part yet, but for some outrageous reason that he doesn’t comprehend, he wants her in his life, “I just want to be with you. I want you.” Di thinks maybe it's because she just almost died in that freezing water. Tad says no, he thinks it’s because she survived that freezing water. He kisses her and gently touches her hair. Telling her to sleep well, he leaves.

Anita catches up with Tad in the hallway and asks if he knows where she can find his father? Tad doesn’t, and asks why, is something up? Anita just needs him to sign off on some paperwork, but she can’t find him and the service hasn’t heard from him. Tad shrugs he could be ice fishing, adding the reception's pretty bad out there. Anita says she’ll keep trying, and Tad tells her not to worry, he’ll show up.
