From Karen Watkins, for About.com

IT WOULD HAVE TO BE A REALLY GOOD PLAN…

Erin worries that her brothers aren’t alive, but Aidan asks if she thinks someone as stubborn as Ryan is going to let a small explosion like this keep him down? And just remember everything Jonathan's survived. When he says they’re going to find them, Erin wonders if they’ll find them in time?

When Jonathan asks Lily to please marry him, she comments this is a very small space. Some normal people would get nervous or claustrophobic, they'd sweat and wouldn't be able to concentrate. Downcast, Jonathan says she doesn’t want to marry him. Lily notes she didn’t say no, and he wonders, “Well, then, would you say ‘yes’?”

Surprised, Ryan asks, “You and I? A couple again? As if the last couple of years just never happened?” Kendall shrugs, “Lessons learned, try again.” When he says it feels a bit more like a step backward, Kendall says hardly. She’s older, wiser, and never to be chumped again! If she could, she would change back every flippin' calendar to 2004, just forget every single disaster. Ryan thinks she’d better check with her co-pilot, because he doesn’t think their son is going to let her turn back the clock. Kendall thinks there are stranger things than the mother and father of a child getting back together; the whole nuclear family thing really isn’t a bad idea. Ryan thinks she would do anything, including hooking up with him, to stick it to Zach.

As Aidan and Erin shout for them, Lily tells Jonathan she thinks he’s very nice and she likes being with him, but people get married because they love each other, and she doesn’t love him. Jonathan tells her they don’t have to get married, but she sighs her dad will send her away, not let her see him, and she’d rather marry him than never see him again. Jonathan hears his sister and Aidan calling to them and starts to answer, but Lily protests, “Shh, shh. I don't want to go back.” Jonathan points out they can’t stay here forever, but she goes on that her dad will set limits. She’ll never see him again, so if she wants to see him, the only answer is to marry him. As Erin and Aidan call out for them to please say something, Jonathan repeats that she’s not ready to be married, and she’s not in love. When Lily calls it a conundrum, a puzzle, Jonathan says it doesn’t have to be. They just have to find a way to stay together; they need a plan. Lily agrees she likes plans, but her father is very smart. It would have to be a very good plan. Jonathan promises it will be. Lily smiles, and nods as she calls to Aidan that they’re here. Jonathan calls up to Erin that he and Lily are down here, and Aidan says they’ll have her out in no time, “Just hold on tight. Can we get some hands over here?” Tad tells David he heard the man, but Hayward shrugs that Jonathan buried alive works for him. Aidan tells him Lily Montgomery is down there, and they’re saving both of them.

Josh bandages his arm and tells Joe he lost some blood, but it looks like he’ll live. Joe smiles as he says he has a feeling he’s in good hands. His expression changes when he sees Greg watching them.

Kendall muses there was a time when most babies were born in wedlock. It was so simple then. Every baby had a mommy and a daddy that was together, and they were married. And they were whole families that had the same last name and they would sit together at the same table and have the same address, “And everybody knew where they belonged.” Ryan points out that she doesn’t love him, and doesn’t even like him. Before they got trapped here, she said she never wanted to see or talk to him again, and didn’t want him to have anything to do with this baby. He’s looking for a stake, because he thinks it would be a lot easier if they just drove it through Zach's heart. Kendall wonders if she proposed? Did she ask him to marry her? Ryan notes she spoke of them having the same last name, and that’s the same thing. Has she really decided to raise this child? Kendall hasn’t decided anything, she’s just trying to imagine the possibilities and get her mind off where they are. What does he want to talk about, cremation and funerals? Ryan sees that she’s scared, but Kendall says this is the easy part; the scary part is out there! She’s scared to death, and doesn’t know what to do. She’s afraid to give the baby up, and she’s scared to keep him, and she’s scared out of her mind about the whole giving-birth thing. But the biggest, scariest part of this whole entire thing is doing it alone. Ryan assures her she won’t be alone; whatever she wants or needs, he’ll be there. However she feels about him, he just wants to help her help their son have the best possible start. They hear some pounding, and Tad’s voice, “Hello, is anyone in there?” They shout they’re in here—please help them get out!
