From Karen Watkins, for About.com

Palmer tells J.R. it was blackmail. They were trapped after the explosion, he had an angina attack, and Hayward refused to give him his nitro pills unless he agreed to go along with this travesty. He made him swear in his dear mother's name. J.R. calls David slime, but David grins he’s a healer, and it’s good to be back! Palmer tells him they’re even; now stay out of his way! He leaves, and J.R. can’t believe David blackmailed an old man having chest pains? Same old Hayward! David agrees J.R.’s certainly new, trying to be the bright and shiny J.R. that Mommy always wanted. What's with that? It’s interesting, almost as if Mommy has come down from Heaven and is sitting on his shoulder, “Is that it, J.R.? Is Dixie whispering in your ear?”

J.R. says he’s trying really hard not to hate him, but David doesn’t care one way or the other. J.R. goes on that he gave Babe his word so he’d come to the wedding and give her away, but don't push him. David asks, “Now, where's the fun in that?” J.R. suggests he just be polite and shut up, because if he does go off on him, they both lose. David calls him so mature and sensitive—he’s impressed! “Do you think Babe would like to know that you almost let a man die just to get your job back?” J.R. demands, and David asks if he’s going to tell her? J.R. tells him he promised Babe he’d drop the grudges, but he doesn’t roll over, not for anyone, “Now, if you want some more trouble, I'm up for it. And if you'd like to start a new tab with me, I'll make you pay.”

PLENTY OF CHOICES…

Brooke tucks Amanda in and says she brought some real food, a little Chinese. When Amanda just shakes her head, Brooke tells her it will keep, so maybe she’ll feel like some later. Jamie knocks and asks Amanda if she’s up for a visitor? Amanda replies, “My mom killed my dad. Is she dead now, too?” Jamie tells her that her mom’s doing okay, but Amanda sighs she said if she had her locked up, she’d be killing her. Jamie says Amanda saved her, and Brooke leaves the room to stretch her legs. Amanda tells Jamie he doesn’t have to be here, or act like he cares, but he insists he cares how she comes out of all of this. She saved lives! Amanda cries she closes her eyes and all she sees is her dad’s… Jamie says it’s going to take time, but she goes on that the blackouts stopped when she found out it was her mom doing all that stuff, just when she wished she could forget everything. Jamie asks what she’s doing when she gets out of here? He suggests she come crash with him, and they’ll work it out together. Amanda calls him a good guy, but she’s not going to move back in. She’s put enough on him already. Jamie guesses she’s mad because he played her. Amanda admits she was, but she’s not anymore. She wanted so badly for it to be true, but he can’t help the way he feels. When Jamie says he never wanted to hurt her, Amanda admits asked Myrtle once how to be the kind of woman that he could love, but she gets it now, “I'm just not.” Jamie tells her they’ve been friends since they were kids, and there’s no sense in that changing. If she needs one, you give him a call. Amanda agrees she will, and he leaves. Brooke returns and asks if she had a nice chat with Jamie? When Amanda says she doesn’t have to worry about Jamie, she’s not going after him anymore, Brooke gently tells her, “Honey, I'm not worried about Jamie. I'm worried about you.” Amanda asks why she’d care about her? Brooke tells her she’s Trevor's daughter. He was a good man, he was a friend, and he loved her very much. When Amanda sighs she’s more like her mom, Brooke asks how she would know? She’s spent so much of her life doing what her mother expected, trying to make her happy and doing what she wanted, and now it's her turn to live her own life and do what makes her happy. Amanda says she left home to be her own person, and now she doesn’t know who that is. Brooke remembers one Halloween when she was little. She was maybe 5, and she had on four layers of costumes because she wanted to be so many people. There is plenty of choice for her, and she would like to help her. “How?” Amanda asks. Brooke thinks she could use some downtime, some peace and quiet, so she could stay with her until she figures out what she wants to do. Amanda agrees she’d like that, and thanks her. Brooke holds her, and Amanda asks if she could help her do something else? “I want to see my mom.”
