Jonathan says yes, Lily’s helping him get better. She’s teaching him life skills, and she’s so smart. She’s the best girlfriend ever! “Wow!” Amanda exclaims, “Okay, maybe then I can help you.” She knows Lily; they used to be related. When she explains that her dad was married to Lily’s mom for a while, Jonathan excitedly thinks maybe she could talk to Jack for him, or maybe her dad could talk to Jack. Amanda says to let her take her own shot first. He really does like her, doesn’t he? Jonathan agrees he would build a tree house for her every day. Amanda smiles as she says to let her help him, “Let me help you guys get back together.”

MAKE ME DISAPPEAR…

As Lily does her homework, Reggie asks if she’s hungry and offers to make her a sandwich. She doesn’t answer, and Reggie sighs as he answers the doorbell. Zach greets Reggie, and asks if Erica’s home. Lily sees him and calls his name. Reggie is excited that she’s talking, and says he’s going to tell their dad! Lily says she wants Zach! She wants to talk to Zach alone. Reggie agrees it couldn’t hurt, and says he’ll be making dinner. He leaves the room, and Zach asks what he can do for her? Lily replies, “Make me disappear.” He can make people disappear—she knows he can! Zach agrees, but why does she want to disappear? Lily reminds him he made Ryan disappear; he went away and started someplace new. Remember, he told her Ryan was a ghost before he came back for real? Zach agrees, he had a reason he wanted to go. When Lily says she doesn’t want to be here anymore, Zach asks what happened? Lily goes on that her dad said he made himself go away, too. Is that right? Zach agrees that’s right, and it was a very difficult decision. Is she sure about that? What is she running from? Lily says she doesn’t like her life anymore, the way they want her to live it, “I want to go away, start somewhere new. Can you help me do that?” She smiles when Zach agrees, “Yes, I can.” Lily asks how it works? How does she get away? Zach tells her to sit down, and says first she has to decide who she wants to hurt the most. Lily doesn’t want to hurt anyone; she just wants to go and start somewhere new, just like Ryan did. Zach hands her a pencil and paper and tells her to make a list of all the people she cares about, like family, Reggie, her dad… Lily agrees her dad says he cares about her, but his actions don’t support that. Zach thinks she might be surprised. He suggests Erica and Kendall; Lily adds Danielle, who’s her friend, and Greenlee, but she’s not here. Zach tells her not to forget him; he cares about her very much. Now, take that list and circle all the people she thinks would be upset if she left. When Ryan left, he hurt a lot of people, not just Greenlee, people who didn’t want him gone. Lily asks what about him—did he hurt a lot of people when he left? Zach agrees, a few, and Lily questions if she has to hurt these people? There’s a lot of circles on this list. Zach asks if she’s sure she wants to do that? Lily breaks it down into lists of people who will be sad, those who will be mad at her, and those who will blame Jonathan. Zach notes that’s a lot of people, and they’ll all be devastated, including him. Lily protests he’d be helping her, but Zach says he wouldn’t be able to see her, and he’d miss her a lot. Lily says she and Jonathan would be hurt if she stays. She hurts very much right now and so does Jonathan. She’s going to be 18 soon, and no one cares. They won’t let her decide, and won’t let her be with him. Zach wishes he had an answer for her, but doesn’t know how to make it work out for her and Jonathan, “I want you to be happy.” Lily asks what about Jonathan’s happiness? Isn’t that important, too? When Zach says it isn’t, not to him, Lily declares he’s no help. Nobody will help her! She runs from the room as she declares, “I have to make myself disappear!”

NO REASON IN HEAVEN OR ON EARTH…

Tad remains rigidly in place, and Dixie pulls away as she tells him to say something—she’s sorry! He turns to look at her, and she asks what he’s thinking? She asks him to please not shut her out, but he replies, “Damn you. You go to Hell.” Dixie agrees he’s right, damn her to Hell just about sums it up. Tad asks sums what up? He takes his jacket back and starts to leave, but Dixie protests he doesn’t understand! Tad asks what more is there to understand? He gets it loud and clear; four years ago, she stopped giving a damn about any of them. Dixie wants to try to explain, but Tad coldly says there is no excuse for this. She was in a car wreck, she lost their child, she didn’t know which way her life was headed. It doesn’t matter what her reasons were. They mourned for her for four years. They searched and hoped and prayed. There is no reason in Heaven or on Earth, nothing she could possibly say that could make this right, so don’t even try.
