From Karen Watkins, for About.com

DO YOU CALL THAT LOVE?

David asks J.R. if he heard what he said? His mother is alive! Ignoring him, J.R. tells Di to keep going—she’s going to have to do better than that to impress this family! David lifts the end of the table and drops it, sending Di’s house of cards scattering, as he says he is not playing games! Babe comes in as he repeats that Dixie is alive. J.R. and Jamie say they’ve heard enough, and Babe asks what’s wrong with him? David shrugs he’s just telling the truth. Perhaps this family is so used to lying to each other they don’t even know what that feels like anymore. Even Janet Dillon, nuttier than a fruitcake, knew the truth when she saw it. J.R. roars at him to get out, and Babe tells her father not to use what that wacko Janet said to torment this family. David insists he got the goods firsthand, in person. Di shifts uncomfortably as David says there are no fakes this time, Dixie is alive and well and living right here in Pine Valley. She has been for a while, watching all of them. She was even at their wedding. Why don’t they ask Di? She’s seen Dixie, and knows all about it. He suggests she go ahead, tell everyone the truth for once in her life, tell everyone her sister is alive! Babe angrily asks why he has to go around ruining everything? What could he possibly have to gain by it? David agrees, at this point he has nothing to gain, so don’t shoot the messenger. He knows as much as J.R. hates him, he’s hoping it’s true. With all that hope, he’s wondering why, “Di, you care to help him with that one?” J.R. sys it’s one thing for him to come in here and make an annoying ass of himself, but don’t drag Di into this. Di says not to worry about her, but he tells her she’s family, and you don’t mess with their family. David laughs he just can’t stop building that house of cards. He can’t wait to see what he thinks about family loyalty when he sees his mommy! Babe asks why he’s doing this? It’s beyond cruel! David tells them if they don’t think he’s telling the truth, ask Tad. That’s right, Tad knows. In fact, he’s with Dixie right now. J.R. urges him to keep pushing him, see what happens. David smirks that one glimpse of Dixie, and he is going to bust into a million pieces. Babe demands that he stop or she will never forgive him, “You and me, out in the hall, now!” David goes with her, and Di sinks into a chair with a sigh. J.R. tells her he’s sorry; Hayward can’t keep doing this to them. Jamie looks out over the balcony as he wonders aloud why they let him? J.R. agrees someone needs to do something about that bastard; Jamie has an idea who.

Babe tells David they are done, over! She wants him gone—he takes some screwed up pleasure in torturing the people she cares about! David insists he’s not lying this time, but Babe repeats they’re through—he can find some other daughter’s life to ruin. David says it’s not about her, it’s about Dixie. Babe asks why he keeps talking about her? J.R. is gone! David tells her because it’s true, “I swear, it’s true.” Babe doesn’t get him at all. If he really believes what he’s telling her, he needs professional help. David agrees she has every reason to believe he’s telling her a lie, but this time it’s the truth. J.R. opens the door and suggests he come on in; he and Jamie would like to hear everything.

Back in the boardroom, J.R. tells Hayward to spill it; he wants to know everything about his mother. David says to trust him, if anyone knows what they’re feeling right now, it’s him. They feel hosed, and he knows; Dixie hosed him, too. He caught her at his wedding, and she led him on, led him to believe he still had a shot with her. J.R. thinks this sounds like one of his sick fantasies. David asks, if this is a fantasy, what the hell is he doing here right now? This was not the Dixie he knew, the one who loved him. Jamie wants details. David says he was having dinner with Dixie at his place when Tad barged in, and the next thing he knew, she was running off with him. She was such a cold, heartless… J.R. and Jamie drag David to the balcony as Di and Babe shout for them to stop! David screams as they hang him upside down by his heels over the balcony; Di thanks God when they finally let him up. David calls them freaking maniacs—just wait until Dixie shows up! If they want to live with their fantasy a little while longer, who is he to stop them? Jamie, J.R. and Babe leave; Di lags behind to speak with David. She says that was the truth, wasn’t it, and David agrees, so she can kiss her happily-ever-after goodbye. The idiot surprised them! She’s such a fool; she should have played this his way, convinced her sister to leave Pine Valley with him. Now she’s lost Tad, and he’s lost Dixie.
