BENEATH THE RADAR…

Ryan meets up with Aidan and Erin in the park, and asks his sister if Aidan filled her in about Kendall being gone? Erin hugs him and says she’s so sorry. Ryan turns to Aidan and asks what he’s got on where she’s headed? Aidan reports that Kendall has slipped beneath the radar. She hasn’t used her credit or debit cards in the last two days. She made one local call the night before she dropped out of sight, and he’s running a check on that number. She's not on the manifest of any commercial flight in the country. Ryan thinks that means she’s on a train or she’s driving; Aidan says she hasn’t rented a car, and her own car is in its usual spot. Ryan worries that she could be anywhere, and if they don’t find her before she gives birth, he will never see his son. Erica asks how vindictive she can possibly be? She already did everything she could to cut him out of his baby's life, and now she disappears. Aidan thinks Kendall has either been abducted against her will, or had an accomplice. Ryan is sure, whatever went down, that Greg Madden is behind it.

PLEASE COME TO BOSTON IN THE SPRINGTIME…

Lily takes two bus tickets to Boston from the envelope and looks at Jonathan questioningly. Her eyes widen as he explains that if she wants, when she turns 18, they don’t have to stay here; they can leave Pine Valley. Lily tells him everybody keeps saying she shouldn't run away, but it’s not really running away if you're old enough to do it and if you know where you're going. When Jonathan goes on that the bus leaves at 8:20am and gets into Boston at 7:25pm, Lily notes that’s a very long drive from Philadelphia to Boston. Jonathan explains that’s because it stops in 24 towns and cities along the way, and they have to switch buses in New York. Lily comments that M.I.T. is right across the Charles River from Boston, and Jonathan agrees that’s why he got the tickets, because she wants to go to M.I.T. He’ll get an apartment for them, a two-bedroom so they can each have their own rooms. Lily worries that will be expensive, but Jonathan says he’ll get a job and start making money while she goes to classes. He doesn’t care what he does as long as he’s making enough money to pay the bills and can give her the life she deserves. Lily is pleased with the guidebook he gives her so she’ll be familiar with where they were going before they go there. That is, if she wants to go. And if she doesn’t, that's all right, too. He tried to think of everything, and hopes he did. But if he didn’t, she would tell him, right? Lily really likes that the president of M.I.T. is a woman. She thinks she's wonderful, and that makes M.I.T. an even better place for her. As Jonathan says it’s going to be the best life ever, Ryan calls out, “Hey, Jonathan, is that you?” Jonathan tells Lily to hide, and she says they won't have to hide when she’s 18. Jonathan agrees, but they do now, and he’ll get rid of him or something. Ryan, Aidan and Erin come into the boathouse and ask where’s his friend, whoever he was talking to? When Jonathan insists he’s alone, Aidan asks if he usually packs a picnic and eats from two plates? Ryan knows his friend sounded like a girl. They have enough trouble now, “Tell me you didn't bring Lily here.” He’s clear, right? He understands that Jackson doesn’t want him anywhere near Lily? Jonathan protests that Jack’s wrong, but his sibs insist Jack could make his life and Lily’s really miserable. Ryan wants the truth—who was he having a picnic with? Amanda comes up carrying a bouquet of flowers, and asks Jonathan, “You're not ashamed of me, are you?” Lily watches as Amanda gives Jonathan the flowers and kisses him as her thank you for the picnic. Taken aback, Jonathan says he didn’t know she was still here. Erin and Ryan look on as Amanda tells Jonathan he really knows how to show a girl a good time, and she wouldn’t skip out on one of the nicest guys she knows. She asks them to join them, but Erin and Ryan think they’ll go home. Ryan apologizes for giving his brother a hard time, and wonders why he didn’t just say it was Amanda he was here with? Amanda explains he wasn't sure they should go public since he and Lily just split. Ryan asks if they broke up? How did Lily take it? Jonathan stammers he hasn’t told her yet. Ryan says it’s okay; he should have a good time, and he’ll see him at home later. They leave, and Jonathan tells Amanda she was so great! Lily comes out of hiding and says he told her that dating Amanda wasn’t what he wanted, that it didn’t work, but that kiss worked—they fit together perfectly. Amanda protests it was just a kiss, but Lily says she can’t kiss him like that, or touch him all the time; he needs someone like her. Amanda insists they were just pretending, but Lily tells Jonathan it’s okay, “Give Amanda the early birthday present. You can take her to Boston.”
