From Karen Watkins, for About.com

J.R. brings Babe back to the boathouse and holds up a card as he says he’s admitted that he’s an alcoholic, and got himself into an outpatient detox program. He has to have this card signed every time he attends an A.A. meeting. He needs help, and he can’t do it alone. No, he’s not excited about it, he’d rather chug shards of glass, but he is determined to make a change for the better. Babe admits she’s impressed, and is really happy for him. J.R. has tears in his eyes as he says now she understands where he’s coming from, what he feels. So, is it still "In your dreams, J.R."? Or is she willing to give it another go? “Can you ever forgive me?”

BECAUSE YOU ALWAYS KNEW BETTER?

When Ryan declares he’s going in there now, save Kendall, Derek tells him to back down now, unless he wants a bloodbath in there. This isn't some bar fight they’re barging in on! Ryan agrees, he’ll wait for Julia to come out, and then he’ll slip in and do what he has to do. He can send his guys in for backup or not, he doesn’t care, “I'm going in.” Bianca begs him not to do this—this isn’t what Kendall wants! Erica insists Ryan knows what he’s doing, but Bianca says she can’t honestly believe that's what Kendall wants, for the two most important men in her life to kill each other? Please don’t barge in there! Erica urges her not to make anything more difficult than it already is, but Bianca begs Ryan for just a little bit more time. Ryan says that’s just the problem, “Your sister doesn't have any more time.” Erica tells Bianca this is not their decision. They went to court, and the judge ruled in Ryan's favor. It is his decision to make, and they’ve tried everything else. Bianca pleads with Ryan to just talk to her! What he’s about to do right now is a matter of life and probably death, and it wouldn't hurt to take a minute and think about it. Ryan agrees, but tells Derek not to do anything until he gets back.

Alone with Ryan, Bianca says she just wanted him to take a minute to chill and think about what he was about to do. “And see things your way?” he questions. Bianca says no, but if he does this, declares this war on Zach, he can’t take it back. He can't unshoot bullets—just ask J.R.! Ryan says she’s not seriously comparing him to J.R., is she? Bianca isn’t; she just doesn’t want him to do something he’ll regret. Ryan protests the longer he waits… Bianca tells him the longer he waits, the more likely it is that his son will be born healthy. Ryan asks what about Kendall? What about her sister? If they take the baby out now, she could live. Bianca agrees she could. She could live the rest of her life full of regret, and hating him for taking away her choices and for sacrificing her son.

When Stuart comes up and touches her shoulder, Erica cries that her daughter could die, “What do I do, Stuart?” He smiles as he says just go on loving her, adding, “Now, this reminds me so much of Cooter.”

Ryan argues they don’t know what Kendall wants. She never told either of them—she never told him that she would die for their son! “Wouldn't you?“ Bianca asks, “Really, wouldn't you die for your son?” It’s true, they don’t know, but Zach says that Kendall fell in love with his son, and she believes him, and Babe testified to it. And if they're right, then this is what Kendall wants. Ryan repeats, “If.” Bianca agrees she doesn’t want her to die either, but if he’s not trying to do what she wants, then she doesn’t understand what it is he is trying to do. Ryan admits, “I am trying to save Kendall because I love her.” Bianca nods, he loves Kendall as a friend, but Ryan admits he’s in love with her. He loved her so deeply back in the day. Maybe that just never went away, or maybe it came back. He has no idea, but he’s feeling everything he ever felt for her, “I'm too late, aren't I?”

When Stuart explains that Cooter was his dog when he was a little kid, Erica’s sorry, but just doesn’t see how this could relate to Kendall. Stuart goes on that Cooter taught him that there are some things in life you just can't fix. We just have so little control, really, if you think about it, and Cooter knew that. He knew that if he waited long enough, it would work out just as it should. So, here's his point. Cooter was 12 years old, and he was looking rather poorly one morning, and he jumped up in his bed and licked him on the chin, and then he put his head on his chest and closed his eyes and got real still, like he was waiting. And then he opened his eyes and he licked him on the chin again, and lived for four more years! Cooter went on living. He was a hundred years old in people years when he died! Erica knows he’s really trying, and she really thanks him for that, but just doesn’t think anything is going to make this any easier.
