J.R. asks why she wants a CD of Madden’s last words? Babe tells him whoever made this recording probably murdered Dr. Madden and J.R. says she does think he did it! Babe does think if he wants to keep her around, he’ll give her the CD, “Do you have a good reason why you shouldn't?”
Adam goes into the nursery to find Krystal packing Little A’s things and wonders where his grandson is going at this hour? When Krystal says his daughter-in-law is keeping his grandson safe, he asks what she’s talking about? Krystal tells him something spooked Babe, and J.R. might have killed Dr. Madden after all. Babe told her to get Little A ready to leave if need be. Adam wants to know what spooked Babe, but Krystal says she didn’t tell her. She just told her she might have to leave tonight, so she’s packing, “I cannot live in this house with a murderer. Either he goes or we do.” J.R. asks again why she wants this CD if they’re not taking it to the cops? When Babe says to make sure they won’t arrest him, J.R. demands, “Unless you decide that they should arrest me, right? Because you're not 100% sure that I'm innocent. You want to hang on to this as evidence just in case I did dig that hole in that park.” Babe doesn’t think he buried a man and killed him, but she’s not stupid and she’s not 100% sure about anything right now. He’ll always have a temper and he’ll never think before he goes threatening someone, so that's why she wants a weapon like that in her hands, not his. J.R. wishes she could just trust him, but Babe says he could use that disc to hurt someone, someone he doesn’t like. J.R. knows she’s talking about Josh, and complains she’s more interested in protecting Madden than she is him. Babe sighs it doesn’t have to be one way or the other. Yes, it would protect Josh, a guy who is already going through so much without having that thrown his face, but it would also protect him and this family. She loves him and loves that he’s trying to change, but face it, he’s a hothead and that disc is dynamite, “So let's just move the explosives away from the match.” J.R. grumbles that he can’t say his wife doesn’t understand him. Babe goes on that if he didn’t make this disc, and she really wants to believe he didn’t, then someone is trying to set him up. So, the farther away from that CD he is, the better. J.R. hands it over as he agrees, if it makes her feel better and keeps Little Adam safe, “It’s all you.”
Krystal tells Adam it’s time to put up or shut up. She will do her best to convince Babe to stay, but only if he kicks J.R. out of this mansion on his rear tonight. Adam protests this is J.R.’s home, too. As J.R.’s father, he has a right to know what she has on him. Krystal admits she doesn’t know and Adam asks if he’s supposed to throw J.R. out on a hunch? Krystal argues that Babe has made every excuse in the book for J.R. If she's finally running for her life, she has a hell of a lot more than a hunch. Adam wants to talk to her himself, but Krystal says Babe went to go talk to J.R. before she made her decision, and she hasn't come back yet. Adam questions when that was and Krystal says long enough ago to make her heart beat a little bit faster. She promised Babe she wouldn’t let this little peanut out of her sight, but she has to go check on them. Will he just keep an eye on Little Adam for her?
Krystal goes to Babe and J.R.’s room, and watches with alarm as J.R. takes a hunting knife from his drawer. Thinking quickly, she picks up a flower pot and hits him over the head, knocking him out. As she binds his hands, she mutters it’s her turn to tie him up and the rope burns will heal eventually. She slaps his face and tells him to wake up—what did he do to her daughter? Adam comes in and asks what the hell she’s done? Krystal calls it what she had to do, “I had to find out what J.R. did to Babe!” As Adam unties J.R.’s hands, Derek comes in with two uniformed police officers and asks, “Is she missing? Is there a day that goes by where somebody in this family doesn't commit a crime?” As Adam asks what he’s doing here, Babe returns and asks what they’re all doing here? She sees J.R. and rushes to him—is he okay? Krystal thanks God she’s okay, “Now, tell him. Babe, tell the nice police chief here why you and your son were getting ready to run.” Adam asks his wife if she could button it just for a minute? She can see how concerned Babe is for J.R.! Babe tells her mama she is so overreacting! She was just going to run Little A down to the yard to look at the moon. She helps J.R. up, and he asks what happened? Seeing Derek, he asks Chief Frye what he’s doing in his room? What did he miss? That’s the question Derek has, and he asks what happened here tonight? Krystal rather unconvincingly says she was watering flowers and the vase slipped, and she dropped it on J.R.'s head accidentally, “Sorry.” Derek doesn’t buy it, and calls his men to bring the search back in here.
