Sean thinks he was happy with Erica, but she tells him it wasn’t always Happyville. Marriage and relationships are very complicated, and no one thing and no one person makes a marriage work or not, “You weren't the end of Travis and me, and you aren't the end of Jack and me.” Sean thinks she’s just being nice, but Erica reminds him she’s not known for "just being nice." So when she tells him that, he can believe her. He is not the reason for the problems she has with Jack, really. There's no reason for him to leave town. Sean asks, “So, you and Uncle Jack, the whole crash-and-burn… not my fault?” Erica agrees that’s right. “So, is it because of the other guy?” Sean asks. Before Erica can reply, Jeff knocks at the door and comes in with a table of food, “Lunch is served.” She hasn’t eaten—is he right? Erica agrees, and Jeff says he thought he’d remind her. He removes the covers from the dishes, and Erica smiles those are some of her favorites; he thinks of everything. Sean rolls his eyes and mutters, “What a guy.” Jeff notes, “For a jackass.” Erica tells Sean it really was very sweet of him to stop by, but she’d hate for him to miss any more school on her account. Sean says they’re in luck; lunch break just started, and he’s starving.

As Sean sits down and helps himself from one of the plates, he says these last few months have been whack beyond whack, and the whole boat thing didn't help. Snatching it and crashing it were majorly stupid. He looks at Jeff as he says his Uncle Jack almost tattooed the lecture on his forehead about taking what doesn't belong to him. Erica quickly asks if he’d like some mint jelly with that chop? Sean says no, thanks, he’s good, and goes on that no matter how flashy it is, how good it looks, how much fun you think it might be, step back, think again, because you will pay and pay and pay. Look at him—he’s a perfect example. He took something that didn't belong to him, and everything went to Hell. Jeff calls him a quick learner, and thinks his uncle is lucky to have him. Erica agrees, only if he doesn’t flunk out of school, and sends him on his way. Alone with Jeff, Erica says she’s sorry about that. Sean means well. Jeff knows he loves his uncle, and he just doesn't want to see Jack lose the best thing that's ever happened to him. Erica asks, “Well, what if I'm not Jack's to lose?” Jeff is sure that Jack is going to have something to say about that. Erica tells him that Jack has already said enough, “Jack and I are getting a divorce.”

UNFINISHED BUSINESS…

As Jonathan looks at the newspaper headline “Cosmetics Executive Found Dead” with the accompanying picture, Aidan touches his shoulder and tells him, “You and I have some unfinished business.” He looks at the paper and says that’s ugly business. It's a real shame about Simone. It's going to be hard on everyone, “It really makes you re-evaluate things, doesn't it?” Jonathan says when he thought Annie was going to lose Emma, he took it way too far. “Same here,” Aidan agrees. It really felt like Tad and Dixie were so close to finding Kate, and he almost lost it with anyone that got in his way. When Jonathan says it’s over now, Aidan nods, everyone's back in their own little corner, “Me and you used to be in that same corner. Remember that?” Jonathan does, and thinks that things were a hell of a lot better then. Aidan agrees they were, and things can be that way again; if something comes up, they can take it on, same corner. Erin rushes up and grabs the newspaper as she declares she wants to know why, she wants to know how, and she wants someone to pay. Something has got to be done. She’s got to do something. This isn't right! “So, what, your fix-everything-for-everybody gene just kicked in?” Jonathan asks. He and Aidan are taken aback when she tells them that Simone died of a drug overdose; it’s called a V-Tach, and Simone had to have gotten the drug from someone. Jonathan asks if she’s just going to go find out who? Erin says yeah! She reminds Aidan that a while back he caught some guy in here trying to drug a woman, slipping roofies in her drink, right? She knows they try to monitor customers, but they know that a couple of people are coming in here high and getting lit in the bathroom, and somebody is supplying them. Aidan asks if she thinks Simone bought that V-Tach drug in here? Erin thinks that if Simone was unhappy or stressed or missing Ethan, she might have wanted to get away from that for a little while. But somebody had to give her that drug, “Now, I want to know, who is the drug pusher that killed Simone?” If they don’t think she can fix this, then help her find the scum who sold Simone the V-Tach! “And if we find him?” Jonathan asks. Erin replies, “You guys do whatever you want to him. First, I want to tell him what an amazing woman Simone was, how at a table right over there, she called me family. Me. And we were, you know? I just… Nobody hurts my family and gets away with it.” Jonathan sighs as he says he has to open the club up. He goes to the door, and Aidan tells Erin she can’t undo what has happened, and what happened is not her fault, “So no guilt and no blame, okay?” Erin just wishes Simone was still here. Aidan agrees, he does, too.

Jamie comes in with Julia and says she deserves some caffeine—with a shot! Julia agrees, and some whipped cream. Jamie tells her after surviving the Chandler house, she can have anything she wants. After their drinks are served, Jamie laughs and Julia asks what that’s for? He says he was just thinking, “You, me, Christmas morning, watching you open your stocking.”

Erin can't believe it was a suicide. She doesn’t want to! Simone that lonely and hopeless… Was it because she lost Ethan? Did she think maybe that was her one shot at love and it was gone forever? Aidan holds her hands as he says he doesn’t know, but it's possible. Erin protests you've got to believe. You can't just give up. Love is out there, real love… Family, friends, maybe even the one. Aidan tells her the good thing about love is it never dies. Erin agrees, it changes, into something different but still special. As they share a hug, Di comes in.
