And that’s you, Kendall. You’ve made me feel a kind of love I never knew existed. You and the Spikeman did something nearly impossible. You made me a family guy, the kind of man… No, make that the kind of father who dresses up his baby in silly outfits and takes pictures to make his wife smile. Let me tell you, one minute with you, smiling or screaming, is worth ten years of any other man’s life. I pity the rest of the male population because they’ve missed the excitement and love you’ve brought me. Now don’t panic, okay? And don’t get depressed. Pick up your cell and call Ryan. Do it now. Call him and tell him I said to keep you safe, because I know he will. All right. Now fold this up and have it laminated later so it’s tear-proof, because I want it to be legible when we pull it out and bore Spike’s kids and grandkids with it fifty years from now. You are magnificent, Kendall and everything I am, everything that’s good in me, is all because I have you. Always, only you, Zach.” Kendall cries and takes a deep breath before calling Ryan.

ALL BETS ARE OFF…

Jack is disgusted when Lt. Perry can’t give him any information about the messenger, and orders him to get the footage from the security cameras. They need this guy! Derek agrees and says to check every service within 50 miles. Find out who arranged this delivery. A uniformed officer comes up and tells Derek they’ve got a disturbance call to 564 Shepherd Avenue. Bianca exclaims that's Kendall's new house! Jack and Derek rush out; Bianca hurries after them.

At the house, Jack and Derek look at the dead body of Raymond Jenkins. Bianca comes up, and Jack tells his niece she doesn’t need to see this. Too late, Bianca does, and exclaims, “Oh, my god! She tells her uncle this has to stop—before he gets to Kendall! Jack insists it will stop, and orders an officer to take her to her car. Derek tells another cop to follow him, and don’t take his eyes off her. Jack sighs that Zach's mother fell from a nice, high balcony, too. Derek agrees, except their friend here didn't fall. Jack agrees, their killer gave him a little assist, "I've left you a parting gift." Derek calls that some gift. Jack agrees, and says there was no disturbing the peace call out here. This guy's been dead at least 24 hours. That call was put in so they’d be standing right where they are right now. Derek says if the Satin Slayer’s killing off their earlier suspects, they’d better get in contact with old Kenny, and fast. Jack sighs that the note also said "I have what I wanted." What the hell did that mean? Derek wonders if it could be Jenkins? Jack doesn’t know. He said "goodbye," too. He’d just like to know where the hell he's going from here and what he's going to do when he gets there. This guy's not even playing by his own rules anymore. That means all bets are off. Anybody could be next.

MAKING HIM PAY…

Ryan gets a call from Kendall and asks where she is? She tells him she’s in Las Vegas, and he’s alive. Alexander Cambias, Zach’s father, is alive. He’s not dead, he faked it all, and Zach has gone to confront him. “Alone?” Ryan asks. Kendall sighs he wouldn’t take anyone else. He hasn’t come back and he should be back by now. Ryan tells her to try not to panic, but she says Zach left her a letter, a goodbye letter, in case he couldn’t come back to her. Ryan insists Zach is a very smart man and he’s going to come back. Kendall says he has to come back! Ryan wants her to stay put, but Kendall protests that Zach needs her. Ryan says no, Zach is protecting her. She needs to be safe. Kendall insists she can help him, and Ryan says they both will. He’s on his way to Vegas right now. Kendall insists there isn’t time, but Ryan says there’s plenty of time. He needs her to tell him exactly where she is, the exact address. Kendall says they are registered under Suarez at the Rancho Rodeo Hotel on Paradise Avenue. Ryan calls that good; he wants her to stay put. He’s coming as soon as he can, and he’s got plenty of backup. Kendall tells him she has tons of backup—there’s six guards outside her door! She agrees she’ll wait for him, but please hurry! Ryan says they’re making the best time they can; Kendall replies, “I don’t think we have long.”

J.R. takes a photo of Babe and Little Adam from his wallet and looks at it for a long moment. He thinks they would have made it; he and Babe could have put their marriage back together. A montage of scenes from their past runs through his mind and he tells himself they always found their way back to each other, “We had to. Just like Tad and my mother. Together forever. We would have been happy if that bastard hadn't… I'm going to enjoy making him pay.”

Jamie is also lost in thought as he flashes back to good times with Dixie, and then to her funeral. He muses that they thought the good times were back. This son of a bitch took it all away, “He robbed J.R., my dad. Took away their love, their hope. I'm going to take this guy out and enjoy every minute that he suffers.”

DO YOU TRUST ME?

Kendall hugs Zach’s jacket to her and sighs, “Come on, Ryan. Hurry up. Where the hell are you?” The phone rings; she rushes to answer it and hears Zach’s voice, “Hey, it’s me.” Kendall joyously thanks God—she’s been going crazy! Where is he? Is he okay? Did he see his father? Please just tell her this is over and he’s safe! Zach replies, “I love you. Do you trust me?” Kendall wonders what kind of question that is? Yes. Zach tells her, “Listen carefully and do as I say. Come to the warehouse, 2 Sunset Avenue.” Kendall tells him Ryan's on his way, so as soon as he gets here, they’ll be right over. “I need you right now,” comes the reply. Kendall protests that Ryan told her not to go anywhere without him, but Zach repeats, “I need you right now.” She says Ryan can help, but Zach tells her to come alone. Kendall asks what’s going on? “Everything will be all right,” he tells her, “2 Sunset Avenue.” Alexander stands over Zach’s body as he plays a tape of Zach’s voice; on the phone, Kendall listens to her husband, “No arguments, Kendall. You have to come right away, and alone.” The connection is broken, and Alexander smiles, “Or it won't be a party. Will it?”
