Krystal tearfully says he can insult her, hurt her, do his worst, because she knows him. She knows his stubborn, arrogant, moonshine-drinking soul, and she has never known a love as sweet and as strong as his. He’s been the greatest surprise and the greatest blessing in her life. Adam notes she’s been the greatest disappointment in his. Krystal insists it was not a long, drawn-out affair. It was one night, one stupid night that got out of hand. Adam notes she apparently didn't know that it only takes once. When Krystal cries that she wasn’t trying to do anything bad in their marriage, Adam shouts at her to spare him—he doesn’t care! Krystal insists he does care! He cared when he said those vows to her, when he gave her daughter another chance with J.R. in this house, for her. He cared every time they made love and every morning they woke up together. He cared when she would dish it right back to him when he was giving her hell. He loves her and needs her just as much as she needs him! If he wants to punish her before they carry on, then just bring it on! “Because this is the big one. This is the capital L for both of us, Adam, and it is not going to end, not even for this.” When Adam says maybe there is something that she could do, Krystal tells him to name it. Adam thinks it may be the only way, “Get rid of the baby.” Stunned, Krystal says he can’t be telling her to hurt her own child. Adam says he doesn’t mean hurt it, just get rid of it, “Dump the mongrel off at an orphanage or something, put it up for adoption—I don't care.” When she says there’s no way, Adam tells her to do that, and maybe they can talk. Krystal wipes away tears as she says he is an S.O.B.! He knows what her children mean to her. Adam thinks she’s obviously made her choice already. Krystal asks, “So that's the way it is, huh? It's either her or you?” Adam agrees, that’s the way it is. Krystal incredulously asks if he honestly believes the only children worth raising are ones with his DNA? Adam snaps that Martins are not worth raising! And, if he ever opened his heart to a child that wasn't his, it wouldn't be one that came about because she fell on her back for Tad Martin! Krystal asks if he could never look at this child without thinking of her and Tad in bed? Well, don't let her leave it up to his imagination, let her give him the juicy details. What does he want to know, huh? “You want to know what we said, how he touched me, how it felt?” Adam shouts at her to stop—they’re done! He storms out, and Krystal cries.

I THOUGHT YOU LOVED TAD…

J.R. goes into the bedroom and looks at Babe sleeping peacefully on the bed. He bends down and kisses her cheek. She opens her eyes and looks at him, “Don't ever do that again.” J.R. protests he only kissed her good morning, but Babe reminds him he lost all rights to kiss her. When J.R. protests that he thought he’d lost her forever, Babe tells him the only reason she’s in this house right now is to protect her mama from Adam. She is not here to be his wife. They are not back together, they are not getting back together, and as soon as this situation with her mama is resolved, hopefully they can figure out a way to share Little A. J.R. insists they can still be a family. Babe sighs they’ve said that so many times, but she just doesn’t think she can forgive him for blackmailing her about her mama. J.R. gets that; she’s made that real clear to him, but she can’t blame him for wanting her back. Babe says her mama slept with her last night. Where is she? J.R. thinks she’s probably downstairs having it out with his dad, “I’m rooting for her.” Babe asks him to go so she can get dressed and check on her mama. J.R. agrees he’s leaving. He just wanted her to know he was on Krystal's side, and hers. Babe finds that hard to believe. J.R. gives her a list of the top attorneys in the state that have not worked for his father or Chandler. Jack Montgomery's on this list. He wrote his father off a long time ago. Choose any one of them. He will pick up the tab, all of it, and wants nothing in return. When Babe notes this could just be some sneaky setup for his dad, J.R. tells her she’s mistaking him for the former heir to the throne. He’s out, just like her and Krystal. His dad made that very clear last night when he went after him. He’s got no more inheritance, no more stake in protecting anything of his father's. Babe says she’s sorry that her mama's secret cost him, too. J.R. insists he knew what he was getting into when he agreed to keep quiet. He’s been to Adam's rodeo before. He just didn't think Tad had to know. Babe wonders if he regrets keeping her mother’s secret? J.R. says no, not if it brought him closer to her. Babe doesn’t know about that, but J.R. says he does. He just doesn’t think Tad will ever forgive him. Jamie comes through the open door and declares, “I sure as hell never will.”

Now downstairs in the parlor, Jamie says he sold his dad out, totally screwed him over! J.R. insists there’s more to it than that, and Jamie agrees there usually is with him, but he doesn’t understand this one. His stepdad loses his little girl, so he cheats him out of another one? When J.R. says this isn’t about Kate, Jamie exclaims the hell it isn’t! His dad, who’s supposed to be his, lost the only woman he truly loved, and the child they had together. He could have helped him. He could have given him something, but no. He had to help himself first. J.R. asks if he doesn’t think he feels bad enough already? Jamie thinks he should feel worse, because he was going to let Adam Chandler raise that child. J.R. protests that his father would have done a brilliant job with that little girl. Jamie nods, of course he would, “Lie, blackmail, steal. Hey, apple, say hi to the tree for me.” J.R. argues that he didn’t create this problem. Jamie agrees, he was the hero in all this. So much sympathy for losing Kate, "Come on, James, let's go find our sister." Apparently, that's different when it's only his sister by blood. He hugged his dad when they lost Dixie, but he failed to mention her dying wish for him.
