Krystal fires a shot, hitting a vase on the mantle. She tells him to get back! She doesn’t want a penny of his money. He can take everything. If she has to, she’ll go back to taking donations from churches and eating ketchup soup to survive. Adam calls her a martyr; maybe she should start charging Tad Martin for the favors she’s been giving him all this time! Krystal says he can trash her name, too, if he wants. He can tell the world she’s a gold-digging, backstabbing cheat, and she won’t deny a word of it, but no way in hell is she going to let him keep her from her baby. She tosses him the phone and says to call the F.B.I. right now and tell them where Janet is keeping her baby, or he should enjoy his last breath. Adam knows she’s not going to shoot him. If she thinks he has her child, then she’d be a fool to kill him, “If I die, the baby's whereabouts die with me.” If she wanted to shoot him dead, she’d have done it by now. Krystal agrees he’s right, she does have to keep him alive until she finds Jenny, but there’s nothing to stop her from blowing off a few fingers, a hand, a kneecap, “Or if you really piss me off, I can get a little bit more intimate.” Adam notes they’ve been married long enough for him to know when she’s bluffing, and she’s bluffing. Now, he’s wasted enough of his time. He turns to go, but jumps when Krystal shoots a liquor decanter and glass shatters everywhere. Krystal asks, “God, Adam. How did we let it get to this, huh?” Adam’s asked himself the same question. Krystal says she knew better than to fall for him. Every time he said "I love you," a little voice in the back of her head told her that it would never last. She fought it for as long as she could, but somehow she buckled. She went against her conscience, and she fell hard, and he let her! He made her believe that she was everything, that he loved her so much they could get past anything, even the biggest mistake of her life. Adam says please! If the tables had been turned, she would have… Krystal says she would have forgiven him! Yeah, she would have been mad as hell, but she would have found a way to love his child. She would never, ever do to him what he’s doing to her and her daughter right now, not because she’s a better person or because she has such an enormous heart. She cries, “Because I loved you with everything in me. I loved you. God, forgive me for being such a fool.” Adam replies, “No bigger fool than I.” A long time ago, he vowed he would never let himself be taken in by another woman. Of course, he knew there was no such thing as the perfect wife, “Then why did I think I could find her in you?” He ignored his gut when she told him that she and Tad had spent the whole night together alone, just talking. He knew she was lying, and just looked away when he sensed that she wasn’t telling him the whole story. His own daughter told him that she had a big secret, and he refused to believe her. Why? Because he loved her and really believed that she would be different, that he could trust her, that she wouldn’t lie to him or deceive him. What a joke! Krystal cries that she messed up, but it was never about him. Adam argues it’s all about him! He didn’t give a damn what Tad needed that night to comfort him, but if she loved him one-tenth as much as she says she does, she wouldn’t have gone to bed with him. “You wouldn't have given yourself to him. You wouldn't have given our baby to him! “ He chokes back tears as he says it’s as simple as that. Krystal can’t defend what she did that night. If that night hadn’t happened, maybe they’d be standing here waiting for their own child to be born. But that's not what happened. She’s not perfect. She never was and she never will be, and neither will he. But when they were together, and it was good, it was as close to perfect as she’d ever known, “You were the love of my life, Adam. You were the love of my life.”

SOMETHING ABOUT “WE’RE HERE TO TAKE THE BABY”…

Babe tries to reach Krystal, but the call goes straight to voicemail. Amanda groans, “God, how could I lose my signal? I had her on the phone.” Tad and Jamie come in; Tad asks Amanda what her mother said? Babe wonders how he even knew that Janet called, and Jamie explains that Aidan is monitoring Amanda's cell phone. Amanda hopes he can trace the call, but Tad asks why he would have to? She didn’t tell her where she is? Amanda shakes her head; she didn’t say anything to her. Tad tells her to wait a minute—Janet called, and she didn’t talk to her? J.R. comes in and Babe tells him that Janet called Amanda. Amanda tells Tad she tried to talk to her mom, but she put the phone down before she could get her to say anything. She heard a man say something about "we're here to take the baby," but she didn't recognize his voice. Tad asks take her where? Amanda doesn’t know. The call got cut off, she lost her signal, and nothing came up on the caller I.D. She didn't hear anything else. Tad storms out, and Babe tells Jamie and J.R. there’s more. She can’t find her mama. She thinks she left to go find Jenny on her own. She couldn't stand going home from the hospital without her. J.R. tells Jamie to stay here with Tad. He’ll go with Babe to help her find Krystal.

Tad calls Aidan and says as soon as he traces that call, he’s got to get back to him, “Why? Janet's about to give my baby away to a couple of strangers, that's why.”

When Tad gets a call from Aidan, Jamie asks if he found Janet? Tad says not quite, but he narrowed it down to a two-mile radius outside of Pine Valley, “Let's go.” Amanda follows as she prays, “Please, God, let us get there in time.”

THIS IS NOT GOOD…

Adam makes a move for the gun, but Krystal is quicker. She holds it on him as she repeats that she wants Jenny back. Adam shrugs she should go find her. He can’t help her. J.R. and Babe come in; they see the doorknob shot off, and wonder what the hell happened here? They call out to their parents—are they here? Colby arrives and says she got their message. Did they find Krystal? As J.R. says not yet, Babe sees the smashed decanter, “Oh, my god. This is not good.”
