NO SPIKE TO CALL MY OWN…

Greenlee repeats that he caused the blackout? The entire city, the clinic’s backup generator? Zach agrees he did. Greenlee goes on, “Destroyed my fertilized eggs, made it so I could never have a baby with Ryan?” Zach nods, “All those things, yes.” Kendall suggests to Greenlee that they not get off point. She got pregnant in spite of all that. She was the one who decided to use her own egg instead of hers, “This was all me.” Greenlee says the reason she even had to go there was because of Zach. Zach agrees, that wasn’t what he intended, but yes, it was because of him. Greenlee concludes, “So the reason I have nothing, no husband, no friends, no Spike to call my own, is because some cocky, gambling lowlife decided to play God with my life.” She slaps Zach across the face, hard! Zach holds Kendall back and tells her to calm down as she demands, “Did you just slap my husband?” When Greenlee says the betrayal keeps getting worse, Zach insists there was no great plot to hurt her. She counters by asking if it wasn’t malicious when he pulled the plug on the city and destroyed her dreams? Zach says he did what he felt was best for Kendall. He didn’t want her carrying Ryan’s baby. Greenlee reminds him of how supportive he was of Kendall, and he shrugs that his wife was pregnant; that’s been decided. What else could he do? He had to support her. The sacrifice she made for her was incredible. Yes, he had to support her, but he didn’t agree with her. Greenlee wants to know why he didn’t agree with her, because he hated Ryan, or hated her? Zach says she was grieving a man who was still alive, a man who was coming back to Pine Valley eventually. He knew that, and the way he reacted the first time she wanted his baby, he didn’t want Kendall to be caught in round number two. Greenlee retorts that she knew he wanted kids; everyone tried to tell her differently, but she knew. Now Ryan has not one, but two kids he adores, and she has zero. Why? Because the two of them decided what was best. Where was her vote in this damned future? When Zach says he had no way of knowing Ryan would change his mind about being a dad, Greenlee insists he should have taken her to him; he should have told her. Zach tells her that Ryan didn’t want to be found, and he thought she’d be better off without him. Greenlee angrily says yeah, she’s doing great without him! Kendall tells her she can’t just disappear and then come back and expect to snatch everything away. Greenlee incredulously asks if she’s accusing her of snatching? The two of them are unbelievable! She storms out, going to the elevator as Rachel arrives with Spike. “It’s him,” Greenlee realizes. Rachel asks if Kendall is around, but Greenlee can only stare at the baby. Rachel tries again, “Do you know where I can find her?” Kendall and Zach come up; Greenlee looks at Spike and then at Kendall.

Kendall kneels to take Spike from his stroller and greets him, “Hi, my sweet boy. Did you come to see Mom, huh?” Greenlee smiles as she looks at the baby, and Zach suggests that Kendall and Rachel go figure out the rest of Spike’s day. Kendall calls that a good idea. When she drops a toy as she straightens up, Greenlee picks it up and holds it out to Spike, saying he doesn’t want to leave without this. When Spike reaches out for it, Kendall quickly diverts him, “No, honey, you know what? Let Mama get that—it’s probably yucky, okay?” Zach hands her a pacifier, and Kendall leaves with her son. Greenlee shakes her head as she tells Zach, “That baby was supposed to be mine. Would've been if you wouldn't have taken him from me.” When Babe protests that’s not fair, Greenlee asks if she was talking to her? “Not so much. And until you have stakes in this company, which will be never, your opinion doesn't matter.” Di notes she’s already taken everything away from Babe. Does she really have to kick her when she's down? Greenlee agrees, “If she's going to defend what Zach did, yeah.” Zach wonders, “Is this between you and Babe or you and Di? Not so much. It's between you and me—let’s keep it that way.” He steers her away from the other women and asks, “Were you supposed to have a baby? Yes. Kendall offered you that little boy, and what did you do?” She refused, and not only that, she spit in her face. And she left her alone to figure out if she should give him up or raise him herself. When Greenlee repeats that baby would be hers if it wasn't for his power company power trip, Zach nods, he made a mistake. He underestimated what an incredible friend Kendall was to her. She was willing to give up everything—her health, her body, her happiness, their happiness, just so she could have her miracle. But she didn't really appreciate that, did she? “You know what, honey? There was a time when Kendall loved you more than anything else in the world. That little boy is living proof of that.”

As they go to the elevator, Kendall asks Rachel not to bring Spike here again, please. She doesn’t want him anywhere near Greenlee.

Greenlee tells Zach there was a time when she would have agreed with him. Kendall was the most loving, unselfish woman, best friend, but he changed all that with his flick of the switch or click of the mouse, whatever the hell he did to destroy her dreams. But Kendall forgave him even after what he did to them, “If she could shove me aside and forgive you for causing that blackout, she never loved me at all.” Zach insists Kendall didn't know he caused the blackout until long after she was gone, and she hated him. She said they were through, there was nothing left, and she had no intention of holding on to Spike. Greenlee demands, “And then, sudden epiphany? ‘Greenlee's gone, I've got her life now? It's been shredded to pieces, so give me, give me, give me’?” Zach asks what is that? She left! She was the one that left and the world kept turning—can she believe that? Life went on. Greenlee agrees, and Kendall's life became bigger and better than she could have ever dreamed of.
