From Karen Watkins, for About.com

YOU DON’T EVER HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT ANYBODY IN CHICAGO…

Zach tells Kendall he thinks she should go. It’s her first book, it would be good for Fusion, and it would be good for her to be away for a few days. Kendall asks why, because he has some hot little chick in the bedroom waiting for him? Zach nods and says yes, that, and Ryan thinks it’s 2004 and he’s engaged to her, “And you should be as far away from that as possible.” When Kendall insists he knows Ryan would never do anything to hurt her, Zach replies that he doesn’t know that and neither does she. Kendall thinks he’s overreacting a little bit here. Considering what Ryan’s been going through, she thinks he's dealing with it very well, in his own way. Zach agrees that’s the problem, the way he's dealing with it, getting her on the Fusion rooftop to re-enact history. Kendall thinks he just needed some comforting, and she thinks she owed him that. Zach says maybe, he took a bullet for her, and Kendall thinks it's that bullet wound that made him lose his memory. Zach agrees it probably was, but the thought of the two of them on the rooftop with… Kendall tells him to wait a minute—they weren’t making out! What does he think they were doing up there? Is he… “Oh, my goodness. Zach Slater, the studly, perfect Zach Slater is jealous. Are you jealous?” Zach admits, maybe a little bit, and Kendall calls it kind of sexy, that whole jealousy thing. She kisses him and says not talking about this book is sexy. “What book?” he wonders. Kendall adds that not talking about Ryan and Annie is sexy, and Zach asks if she knows what would be really sexy? If she stops talking altogether. She agrees he read her mind, and they kiss again.

After making love, Zach sighs that was nice. Kendall agrees, but says to wait a minute—“nice”? That's it, "nice"? Zach tells her “nice” is Nordic code for "it is incredible to be with you, always”, and Kendall calls that good. She tells Zach she doesn’t want him worrying about this whole stupid Ryan thing. As Zach reaches for her again, he says he’s not worried about Ryan. He's just one man. There are a million other guys he’s got to worry about with her, right? Kendall assures him there is nobody else. “No one. Always only you.” So, he doesn’t ever have to worry about anybody in Chicago or anyplace else. When Zach says he’s glad she’s going, Kendall knows if he had his way, he would lock her up forever and throw away the key, right? Zach admits, “Yeah. Well, at least until Ryan remembers what year it is.”

When Kendall comes downstairs with her suitcase, she wonders how many people are going to be at this book signing. Greenlee wants to record the whole thing. Zach says she’s excited about it, a new career for her. He takes her bag, and Kendall says this feels right, almost perfect. Zach questions the “almost”, and Kendall says she means Ryan. She hopes that when she comes back, he’ll remember that he’s in love with Annie. Zach tells her for the next 24 hours, just think of all the good stuff. He kisses her and she tells him this is the good stuff.

I CAN’T FAKE THAT…

Ryan knocks on the bedroom door and calls out that he’s sorry to bother her. She opens the door in a bra and panties, and asks if everything’s okay? He says yes, he just remembered something. She hopes it was about them, but he says no, he just remembered that all his clothes are in here. Embarrassed, he says he didn't realize she was going to be getting dressed. He’s really sorry. Annie repeats "’Sorry’? Ryan, I'm your wife. It’s really okay.” Saying no, it’s not, Ryan takes his clothes and hurriedly leaves the room.

Annie comes downstairs, fully dressed, as Ryan is heading out the door. She asks if he’s leaving, and he tells her he has some errands to run, that’s all. She gently says he doesn’t have to run away from her. Ryan insists he’s not, but she tells him it kind of feels like it. Ryan claims he’s just restless, and Annie notes that he just saw her nearly naked. Does he want to just sit down and talk? Ryan wishes he could, but… Annie nods, but he’s too uncomfortable here. When he says he’s uncomfortable everywhere right now, she tells him to look around. This is his home. He replies that it doesn’t feel like his home, and she suggests maybe if he spends a little more time here… Ryan sighs and takes off his jacket. He picks up a framed picture and says Emma really is a cute kid, isn't she? When Annie says she sent her over to Julia’s for the night, Ryan asks, “Because of me?” Annie says she was asking questions. She just told her that Daddy wasn't feeling well, that's all. She doesn’t want her to… Ryan finishes, “Feel the way you feel? Rejected?” He’s sorry, but he doesn’t feel comfortable anywhere right now, not even in his own skin. He woke up, he has a wife, he has two kids that he doesn’t know. The woman that he loves is married to somebody else, and he looks at her, this sweet, wonderful woman, and knows he’s hurting her. It kills him, and he is so sorry. Annie says none of this means anything to him right now, but before him, she was with a creep, a terrible, terrible guy, and she didn't think that there were any other good guys out there, “And then I met you.” Ryan doesn’t feel like a good guy right now, at all. All he’s doing is hurting her. He knows that he can’t give her what she wants and needs, and he’s thinking about another woman the entire time. Annie agrees that's his reality right now, but she wants him to know that she will be here, however long it takes for him to wake up and remember her. “And what if that day never comes?” Ryan asks. Annie doesn’t believe that he won’t remember. There is too much here for him to come back to. She shows him pictures taken with Emma and insists these are his memories—doesn’t he want them back? Ryan does, and maybe someday, they'll come back, but maybe they won't. He doesn’t even have little pieces he can put together. He has nothing of the last four years, and can’t even imagine a day that he gets his memory back. Annie insists she can, and the Ryan she knows believes in possibilities.
