DO YOU HEAR ME, JESSE HUBBARD?

As Frankie looked at him in disbelief, Jesse told him, “It's me, Frankie. You're not dreaming.” Frankie asked if this was for real? He’s alive? Angie knew it seemed impossible, and asked Frankie to go inside with Jesse. She’d be right there if he needed her.

Jesse began by saying it wasn't supposed to be this way. He never meant for him and his mother to find out about him. Frankie asks if he stayed away on purpose? How was he dead, and then he turned up alive 20 years later? Jesse knew, this must seem like some kind of trick. Frankie said more like every wish he ever had just came true, but he was a little boy when he disappeared—how could he abandon them like that? Jesse explained how he had stayed away to keep him and Angie safe; Frankie protested, “But we needed you, and you weren't there. But you could've been.”

Angie told Tad she didn’t think Jesse was giving her the full story; whatever he was hiding, she had a feeling it was about her.

Jesse wanted to hear about his son, and Frankie told him about doing an internship in Pine Valley before feeling compelled to enlist. He just felt like he should be doing something else, something more, something good. Jesse told him, “No one ever does, son, not in a war.” He spoke of his decision to protect them and live his life on the run, and he would do it over again in a heartbeat, “Frankie, I love you more than my life.” Frankie was really sorry about everything he’d been through, “I missed you, too, Dad. I never forgot about you, either.” Jesse pulled him close, and they shared a tearful hug.

Krystal sighed that the kind of love Jesse and Angie had happen to everybody. He knew—that was the kind of love he had with Dixie. Tad smiled, ”There's all kinds of love, sweetheart.” When Krystal said she believed Jesse and Angie were on their way to a happy ending, Tad agreed, “Just like you and me.”

Jesse was really glad Frankie was there for his mom, and that he knew the danger he would be in if he stayed. Frankie said to wait—what did he mean, “if”? He wasn’t going to let him disappear again! Tad came in with Angie and Krystal; he told him Frankie was right, “You got a lot of people that love and support you around here. People would do anything to help you make this right.” Angie said he’d been running for 20 years, and it was time to stop running, “Do you hear me, Jesse Hubbard?”

WE CAN MAKE IT WORK…

Derek told them the body they found was someone they knew. His name was John Remington, nickname “Remy”. He knew of him. He dated Angie Hubbard after her husband was killed in the line of duty; Jesse actually took a bullet meant for Remy. Everyone thought Remy had left town, but it looked like he was shot at close range and then buried next to the bomb shelter. They were starting a full-scale murder investigation.

After hearing the great report on Spike, Greenlee said she could finally let herself believe that the four of them were going to be okay. Zach took Greenlee to the lounge to speak to her privately, and Aidan noted, “Alone again.” Kendall sighed, “This is never going to get any better, is it?”

Zach asked Greenlee if she was okay? This whole shelter business was behind them. They’d moved on. Greenlee asked, “Are you sure about that, Zach? Because I'm not.”

Kendall sighed, “Aidan, we did what we did, but we're good now. We dodged that baby bullet. And now, we're with the people that we love.” They used to be friends, right? They could be again. They spoke about Zach hiring him to go on the book tour because Aidan was the only person he could trust. Kendall suggested they prove him right, and insisted they could make this work.

ON THE MOVE…

J.R. brought lunch for Babe on his way to the hospital, and they wound up making love again. Babe spoke of her pride in him for what he was doing, and J.R. wondered what Richie was going to think when he found out that he was volunteering to be his donor.

One of the men held the picture of J.R. and asked, “You sure about this, Novak? Because once we grab this guy, there is no going back.” Richie had never felt more sure of anything, “I'm going get J.R.'s bone marrow, if I have to kill him to do it.”

J.R. grinned, “She loves me. The girl is crazy about me.” Saying he’d call her later, he left. One of Richie’s henchmen watched and made a call, “Chandler is on the move. Be ready for my signal.”

IF YOU CAN’T TRUST YOUR FRIENDS…

Greenlee was surprised when Zach told her about asking Aidan to go with Kendall on the book tour, and he asked if she wanted him to get somebody else to go with Kendall? Greenlee said no, and if it would Zach sleep better, then she was all for it. Besides, if you couldn’t trust your friends, who could you trust?

THE SHORT END OF THE STICK…

When Richie came to the door, Babe said she had been leaving him a ton of messages, and wanted to tell him he was going to be okay for good. She’d found out that J.R. was his match on the donor list, and J.R. had made the decision to do it. As Richie feigned surprise, Babe got a call about a play date for Little A. Richie went out into the courtyard and chuckled, “What do you know, Richie? You get to live, you get Babe. And poor J.R.—well, he just gets the short end of the stick.”

YOU ACTUALLY HAD ME AT “DISAPPOINTED”…

Angie insisted, “If you walk out that door, I will never forgive you.” He would be worse than dead to her; he would have disappointed her. Jesse tried to hold back his tears as he told, “Okay. You actually had me at ‘disappointed’." He took her in his arms and cried, “I'm home, baby, I'm home. I'm home.”

Elsewhere, two men watched surveillance footage of Jesse at the hospital and agreed they finally had him right where they wanted him.

TIME TO MAKE OUR MOVE…

As J.R. left his car in the parking garage and headed into the hospital, the thugs made their move. He was put in the back of a van, then taken to where he was held down on a hospital bed and given an injection to knock him out.
