As Erica sits with Kendall and Josh, Zach thanks Jackson for his help. A federal marshal tells Ms. Kane it’s time. Erica hugs her children, and the guard puts her in handcuffs. Erica tells Kendall and Josh that she loves them both. They should be strong, and remember what she said. She’s going to be fine. Josh agrees, of course she is, “You’re Erica Kane.” Erica grins as she agrees, “Yes, I am. I’m Erica Kane.” She smiles at Jack, who tries to return her smile as she’s led away. Greenlee goes to her father and says she really is sorry that things turned out this way. “Are you?” he wonders. Greenlee says she was thinking that maybe while Erica’s away, maybe he could date again? Jack sighs, “Greenlee, sometimes your timing absolutely stinks.” He leaves the courtroom to face the media outside. Zach hugs Kendall and asks if she’s okay? Kendall says no, actually, she’s not. Zach assures her that Erica will be fine. They’ll visit her whenever they can. Kendall sighs it’s not just that, “It’s us. I lied to you.”
Zach returns to the courtroom and tells Kendall everyone’s gone, “What did you lie to me about?” When Kendall says she didn’t tell him everything about Ryan coming to L.A., he questions what she left out? Kendall turns to face him and says she didn’t just see Ryan alone with Aidan at the hotel. She met him somewhere, at this bar. Nothing happened. They just talked. She was trying to help him remember, “I felt terrible keeping this from you.” Zach thanks her for telling him now. Kendall asks him, please, not to go after Ryan. This was her fault. Zach knows she just wanted to help. Kendall agrees, and now she knows she can’t. He’s been trying to tell her that all along, and she gets it, finally. Ryan has to figure out his own problems with Annie. She can't fix them. Zach touches her cheek and smiles as he tells her, “That's all I needed to hear.”
I’M ERICA KANE…
Erica takes off the last of her jewelry and gives it to the female guard, who then locks her in her cell. Alone, Erica sits and looks around at her surroundings. She quietly declares, “I can do this. I’m Erica Kane.”
