NO SECRETS, NO DRAMA…

At ConFusion, Greenlee tells Aidan, “My eyes—go on about my eyes again.” Aidan says they sparkle every time he gives her a compliment. They’re gorgeous. Greenlee guesses they just sparkled again, didn’t they? She admits, “I almost feel guilty being us. We have all of the new love perfection and romance and none of the married drama.” As Aidan kisses her, Zach and Kendall come in. Zach asks what’s wrong, and she thinks she’s just still a little wobbly. She was really scared to tell him about her and Ryan in L.A. Zach says but she did tell him, “Unless there’s something else you want to confess.” She told him everything, right? Kendall agrees she did, but she should have told him sooner. When Ryan showed up in L.A. with this memory, it was crazy but it was good news. Then Aidan told him to leave, but she felt like she could still help him. So she met him alone at this bar, and all they did was talk. That was it. He didn’t push her or try anything with her… Zach silences her with a kiss, noting she was babbling. Greenlee comes up and says that was a happy kiss, right? Kendall agrees—why wouldn’t it be? Greenlee shrugs that they can’t make out in their entrance. They have customers, and she wants them to be able to come all the way in to open their wallets. Has she mentioned that they own this place? Kendall asks if she’s mentioned “Go away”? Greenlee returns to Aidan, and Kendall says okay, so he’s not mad, or he is mad and he’s trying to confuse her. When Zach says he’s not mad, not at her, Kendall asks him not to be angry with Ryan, please. She knows he drives them crazy, but he’s always going to be in their life no matter what. He’s family because of Spike. Zach asks if she wants him to shut her up again? He can. Kendall says all right, she will not talk about Ryan, she will not try to fix him. She can’t help him, but she can’t hate him, and she doesn’t want Zach to hate him either, please? Zach hugs her, and sees her looking over at Greenlee and Aidan. He reminds her they have a deal, no more secrets, and that includes wanting to be with someone else. Taken aback, Kendall asks, “What?” Zach says Greenlee. The two of them are good together, a little twisted, but good. Kendall agrees it’s good. Actually, she gets a kick out of the whole thing, the four of them all chummy and happy? It’s actually amazing when you think of all the times they’ve hated each other, and who did what to whom. Zach nods, and then he and Greenlee got stuck in the bunker, had to try and learn to understand each other, and she and Aidan thought they were gone forever. They went through something that’s never going to go away. Greenlee comes back and says if they don’t come to their table right now, she’s going to have Aidan resort to his Special Ops special trickiness. Zach follows them as he says they can’t have that; they don’t want anyone to get hurt.

When the men go to get drinks, Greenlee tells Kendall now’s her chance to lose her smile. Erica’s sentence? Kendall sighs that her mother is being brave, so she has to at least pretend. Actually, she was just brave, or crazy. She just told Zach that she met Ryan alone in L.A. “Yay, good for you,” Greenlee tells her, “And Zach was fabulous about it, which I knew he would be, but thank God you said something and didn’t wait any longer. Otherwise, he would’ve gotten more suspicious of you not telling him, and we wouldn’t be having this conversation.” Kendall tells her to shut up a second—he already knows? When Greenlee admits he knew, Kendall can’t believe she told Zach. Greenlee says no, she wouldn’t do that to her. Just forget about how he found out. The point is, she told Zach, which means no secrets, which means no drama. Isn’t that great? Kendall calls it perfect and glares at Aidan.

At the bar, Aidan tells Zach he needs to find Kendall another babysitter. Zach says he didn’t babysit her, he protected her. He doesn’t trust a lot of people, “I don’t need to. You think about it.”

GIVE ME A MERCY DATE…

When Ryan shows up at the penthouse holding a bouquet of flowers, Annie says they already did this once. She told him… Ryan says she told him no to the family dinner pizza date, “But what about the you-and-me-alone date?” As he smiles hopefully, Annie closes the door in his face. He knocks again, and Annie opens the door, demanding to know why he’s back when she told him to go away? Ryan says because he remembered that he was persistent. Annie wonders who he had to sleep with to remember that? Because she recalls that sleeping with her triggered memories about Kendall. She sighs that she doesn’t want to fight with him, and since that seems to be the only thing they can do lately… Ryan closes his eyes and tells her, “Dark pants that stop slightly above your ankles, a white sweater with a hood.” Annie asks what that means? Ryan wants her to tell him. He has this memory of her wearing that outfit. He remembers her laughing and being very, very happy. It feels like a honeymoon, but somewhere inside of him, he knows that it wasn’t. All he does know right now is that they were really, really happy.

As they sit in the living room, Ryan says he knows this one’s going to sound a little bit crazy, but he remembers pink dots all over her face. Annie nods, she had chicken pox, and Ryan says he remembers her still being so incredibly beautiful. Annie skeptically asks if he’s sure nobody’s told him about this? Ryan flashes back to looking through the photo album and memorabilia, but says he’s positive. Nobody’s said a word. It’s because the memories are inside him, and they’re coming out now, and he knows that now. Annie asks, “Okay, so taking me to bed doesn’t jar any memories, or at least any memories of me, so what’s changed, Ryan? What, you found some Calamine lotion and the memories just come flooding back?” Ryan can’t explain the memories coming back any more than he can explain losing them in the first place. He’s just really trying to make it up to her, that’s all.
