It has been a joy and a privilege to have worked with Gloria and written your AMC recaps for almost seven years. When you have written to us that reading the recaps made you feel that you had watched the show even though you hadn’t seen it, my heart swelled with pride that I had achieved what every writer dreams of, successfully painting a picture in a reader’s mind with one’s words. For that, I am eternally grateful.
Another joy in my life has been cat rescue, something I’ve done over these years in addition to writing. Now, I have a unique opportunity to be a part of something that I’m passionate about, working with a nonprofit organization that provides low-cost spay and neuter services for domestic and feral cats. As there just aren’t enough hours in the day to do it all, I have had to let go of something, and am sadly saying goodbye to writing the AMC recaps columns.
All My Children is getting back to the days of finely crafted storylines and characters we truly care about, and I will miss writing about it. I urge you to keep watching and reading, supporting the show we’ve loved for so many years, and Gloria, who has put her heart and soul into creating a wonderful website for all of us.
My leaving creates an opportunity for one of you to fulfill a dream…writing about something you love, in your own words, and sharing your thoughts with others of a like mind. Gloria can’t do it all, so please consider stepping up to help out by taking over the recaps. I can’t say enough nice things about her, and I speak from experience when I tell you this will be one of the most rewarding things you’ll ever do in your life.
